About us

We are a friendly family run Children’s Nursery occupying a converted farmhouse with attached bungalow in ten acres of beautiful English countryside, offering a spacious environment for children to explore and grow amongst nature and wildlife.

We have private access to a forest where we enjoy puddle hunting journeys with many an adventure.

Cowdown provides full day care facilities for children aged from 4 months to 5 years.

We are open every weekday from 8am until 6pm for 50 weeks of the year. We close for bank holidays and Christmas holidays for two weeks.

The ethos of Cowdown Day Nursery is to facilitate the development of….“self”:, self esteem, self confidence, self worth, ‘the awareness of self’, communication and interaction, learning and developing personal and social skills, experiencing how to make friends, creativity, imagination, physical and mental learning, providing a healthy environment for children to develop as unique and whole individuals.

For regulatory, privacy and safety reasons viewings are strictly by appointment.

“All 3 of my girls have attended Cowdown; when my youngest leaves in July 2013 it will have been 10 years with Richard and the team; many of who were there when my eldest was a baby. The friendships the children develop remain strong, even when they leave to go to different schools. I love it when I pick up and am greeted by either a muddy coat or with specks of glitter in hair  - signs of another great day of playing outdoors, a walk in the forest or gluing and sticking.
